When you visit Southview for Preventive Dental Care, your first dental care visit may consist of any necessary X-rays, exam, cancer screening, periodontal “gum” exam, tooth exam and cleaning. We feel that it is very important to be thorough so that no dental or health concern is missed.

For those patients that are considered at a high risk for cavities we may recommend a fluoride varnish treatment. Fluoride changes the crystalline formation of enamel from hydroxyapatite to fluoroapatite which is stronger. This is why fluoride has been added to your drinking water and has helped prevent cavities.
